News seems to be filitering out that anyone wanting to use the new Windows Mobile 7 Series phones, when released later this year, will probably not be able to upgrade an exisiting phone.
According to an article on APCMag.com, Microsoft’s General Manager of Mobile Communications Business in the Asia-Pacific region, Natasha Kwan said that devices running the latest Windows Mobile 6.5 will receive significant upgrades (6.5.3) but they won’t be able to upgrade to the Windows Mobile 7 OS.
A lot of 6.5 applications have been built from the old paradigm of the stylus. Those legacy apps will be a lot more compatible on 6.5.3 because we have magnifier technology which lets you use your finger for navigating!
Microsoft is slated to reveal more about Windows Phone 7 at the MIX developer conference, which is happening from March 15 to March 17.
