The Windows 7 Launch Party

In a very different marketing move by Microsoft, you will soon be able to host your very own Windows 7 Launch Party!

In exchange for undertaking one of these events, in the week following the official Microsoft launch on Oct. 22, the party host will get a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate Edition and a load of other “tools” for making the party go with a swing.

The official site to register to become a party host is:

Currently online there is a LOT of derision about these parties. Many bloggers are just saying they are a waste of time and are mocking the official launch party promo videos. However, this is proving to be an excellent way for Microsoft to get some free exposure. All this writing about the parties is just fueling more interest in Windows 7!

Heck, if tech guru and Apple fan – Leo Laporte – is applying to host a party then there must be something cool about them?
