BING UK Out of Beta

The UK now has its own version of Microsoft’s search offering BING.

“This is a serious, long-term commitment from Microsoft to put a differentiated search product in to the market place,” said Ashley Highfield, managing director of Microsoft’s consumer and online divisions in the UK. “We have not just used the US version of Bing. We’ve had a UK team focusing on what will work particularly well over here”.

However, UK users will have to wait a bit longer for Twitter feeds and computational results delivered by Wolfram Alpha to appear in UK based search results.

My own use of the UK version of BING has been good (I live in the UK) and I find the local search results in particular to be on a par with Google UK results.

As long as we do get the additional features that US users currently receive, I think the only way is up for BING UK.

BING search engine is just as good as Google. In my own personal experience, Google does give more releveant search result than Bing but the difference is very small. **
